Rock-bottom is based on my childhood memories in Blackpool and how they have changed as I've got older, When I was younger me and my family would go to Blackpool every year and stay in a B&B, we would look forward to it all year and would have an amazing time. What I didn't know was how different Blackpool is at a weekend as we only ever went in the week, when I returned at 18 for a night out with family I realised how different it was. The walk back to my B&B was terrifying I felt insecure and venerable in a place that used to feel like a second home

I decided to collaborate with a writer. She created poems to go alongside my work, the poems are about our childhood in Blackpool and how its changed. I then mixed them in with the old postcards and created a book with all different contrasting images and text they work together to create a true representation of Blackpool both past and present.
